APPROACH
Approach is a Project which is part of the “I Confess” Season” of Art Research Activity. In it Bbeyond have invited six artists whose performance practice has an affinity with discourses of place, location and site, to visit during a period of 1st. – 13th. December 2006. The artists are invited to make short visits (between 3 and 7 days) to Belfast for a “gathering” and an initial personal investigation into the local contemporary context of Belfast and its surrounding areas.
“How can an artists’ approach in practice test and examine the physical and conceptual perimeters of space in relation to the individual, social or political In what ways could an artists’ approach offer unique and new forms of “thinking”, research and knowledge to issues within art in context and location.”

The starting point for the project is open-ended with the view that potential artworks, outcomes, presentations will evolve or be generated from their Approach in the present or in the future. The form of Approach is to enable a contextualized experience of place and to inter-relate that experience through practice with the fabric and textures of people and locations here.
