Operation Ambassadors

Bbeyond wishes to develop closer links between local and International Artists/curators. We aim to collaborate with Catalyst Arts in the promotion of performance artists based in Northern Ireland within an International context. Over the next three years, we aim to create opportunities for local artists to travel to other international centers of excellence within a developing Performance Art network.

For ‘Operation Ambassadors', we propose that four leading International performance artists/curators each visit Belfast for one week to ten days during which they will participate in discussions, performances and individual mentoring on performance art. Bbeyond will act as host and facilitator for these artist/curators by introducing local artists and their work to the curators with the aim of establishing formal links and future reciprocal international exchange projects.

Bbeyond host the following artists/curators (tbc):

Richard Martel , (Quebecoise) October 2006

Boris Nieslony , (German) tbc

We aim that ‘Operation Ambassadors' be documented with an annual publication. This is intended as an immediate benefit for all the members of Bbeyond as it will act as promotional material including work that they have generated locally and internationally. In publishing these events and artists work, Bbeyond will initiate and develop a performance art archive and database.
